Jean-Jérôme Khodara is the founding and managing partner of Krossing. With over 25 years of experience in emerging markets, particularly in Africa where he has been based for 12 years (in Cairo, Egypt, and Algiers, Algeria), Jean-Jérôme advises strategic clients and investment funds on their entry or further expansion into African markets. He specializes in complex cross-border M&A transactions, including the setting up of joint ventures and managing all phases of M&A transactions such as structuring, due diligence, negotiating, and drafting transaction documents.

Before founding Krossing, Jean-Jérôme was a member of the Africa Practice Group at the law firm Gide in Paris. He then served as Senior M&A Counsel for Africa & the Middle East with LafargeHolcim in Cairo, Algiers, and Paris. More recently, he was a partner in the M&A Practice Group at Matouk Bassiouny & Hennawy in Algiers and Cairo.

Thanks to his dual experience as a lawyer and in-house counsel, Jean-Jérôme has a deep understanding of the expectations of in-house legal teams. This allows him to deliver advice that meets clients’ objectives in terms of quality, deadlines, and budget.

Jean-Jérôme is a member of the Paris Bar and has studied in France, the UK, and the USA.

  • RMBV (a leading Dutch private equity investment fund) for the divestment of its minority stake in the Algerian transportation and logistics company La Flèche Bleue Algérienne (Algeria);
  • Development Partners International, a leading private equity firm with a focus on Africa, in relation to its minority investment in B.Tech for Trade and Distribution S.A.E, a major Egyptian distributor of white goods (Egypt);
  • Meridian Investment for the divestment of a majority stake in “TBE Egypt for Payment Solutions and Services” to affiliates of BPE Partners (formerly Beltone Private Equity) (Egypt);
  • KFC for the opening of a restaurant chain in Algeria;
  • Capgemini in connection with its initial investment and launch of operations in Egypt;
  • Hyundai in connection with the acquisition of a majority stake in Doosan (transaction value: confidential) (Algeria);
